Halfway Reflection

1.     Tenaciousness is a competency. To keep up with the requirement of this course, I find it helpful to preview the next week’s assignments so you can see where your business idea is headed. It’ll get you thinking about whether or not your current idea is a profitable opportunity.
2.     Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Sometimes, it’s hard to take constructive criticism. When you think you have a great idea, your classmates will suggest otherwise, and it appears discouraging. But in reality, you have to turn that into the chance to improve your idea and tweak it. I’ve definitely wanted to give up in those cases, but criticism helps entrepreneurs find the weaknesses in their ideas.
3.     My three tips for this class: 1) Be proactive! 2) Do EVERY assignment. It only takes 10 little points to lose your A grade. 3) Talk to other students in the class and even try to do the assignments together. It lessens confusion and makes it fun.

  1. HI Kristen! I really think your tips were very well spoken for future students of this class. I definitely agree that taking this class one step at a time and doing the assignments in a timely manner are essential. I do exactly what you explained, I usually preview the assignment for the week ahead of time so I can figure out how long it will take me to do it and then I either work on them throughout the week or give myself enough time to complete them thoroughly.

  2. I completely agree with your tip about being proactive. I believe this is the most helpful thing that you can do especially when dealing with an online class. It is easy to get caught up in the hectic schedule that comes with going to UF and being involved on campus. Work ahead so you never have to worry about something due the night of and stressing to finish by 11:59

  3. Hi Kristen,
Like you said, I also preview the next week's assignment to make sure that my idea is headed in the right direction for class. I also thought that you made very solid tips for students in the future who are taking this class. Being proactive is something that can help you in any class, but it can especially help you in this class with so many assignments to complete. Also, I agree that it is crucial to do every assignment even though you may think that you are only going to lose 1 or 2 points.

  5. Hi Kristen,
I like how you talked about being ahead of schedule and looking ahead to the next assignments as it helps you with working with your business opportunity. It is important to stay on top of the assignments while also doing the other classes work and other events on campus. Being proactive and organized in this class is one of the most important things as assignments are easy to wait until the last moment.
