Final Reflection

1.     After reading through my posts, I saw some that gave me PTSD and others that I actually enjoyed writing. Some of the assignments, in my opinion, required a lot of footwork and less writing. I always prefer to write more and do research over talking to people about my business idea that may never actually happen.

2.     One post I’ll remember for years to come was when I spoke to the AIDS patients who could vouch that marijuana helped with their pain. I remember one of the patients said, “It’s not about getting high, it’s about getting well.” That made me realize many patients take this seriously and have a dire need for this drug. I’m glad that I stepped outside my comfort zone and talked to these individuals about a touchy subject for some, but personal experience for them.

3.     At the end of this course, I can confidently say that I’ve learned more about what being an entrepreneur entails. It’s lots of research, dedication, passion and drive. While I posses those values, I don’t believe I’ll become an entrepreneur. I know that my heart is with journalism and writing, and that’s where I want to dedicate all my efforts. I took this class to become exposed to the business college and see if I’d minor in entrepreneurship, but I don’t think the trade is for me.

4.     This class is NOT hard. Yes, it’s a lot of work and you have to have the self-control to constantly be on your sh*t, but you’ll realize that the assignments are building your skills and an actual business. I recommend new students in this class to take some time during add/drop week and create a list of things they love. Use those things you love to build your business and keep you interested in the work you’re doing. To perform best in this class and get an A, all you have to do is do the work on time! If I can get an A in a 3000 level, 4-credit class, so can you.

  1. Hi Kristen! I like that you were able to gain and learn something from this class. I definitely agree, that in this class you need to be on top of your stuff and work ahead. This is a online class and it can be easy to fall behind. This is a class people should flourish in and time management will make or break you in this class.
